TORONTO, April 29, 2026 – On April 29, the City of Markham held its Community Strength and Service Contribution Awards ceremony, recognizing organizations and individuals from the fields of community service, cultural exchange, and public communication. CCTV Medium received the Outstanding Media Contribution Award in recognition of its continued work in community information sharing, local public affairs reporting, and multicultural communication. Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Councillor Alan Ho, and others attended the event and took part in the award presentation.

The ceremony was jointly organized by the Canadian Association for Artistic Multicultural Exchange together with municipal representatives. More than 300 individuals and organizations from different sectors were recognized, covering categories such as community service, cultural exchange, media communication, public participation, and professional development. The event reflected the City of Markham’s growing level of community involvement and volunteer spirit within a multicultural environment.

As a bilingual media platform rooted in the Greater Toronto Area, CCTV Medium has long focused on local community development, public policy, and livelihood-related issues. Through content in both Chinese and English, it serves readers from different backgrounds and is committed to improving the accessibility and clarity of information. In a multicultural environment, clear, accurate, and practically useful information plays an important role in helping residents access services, understand policy, and take part in community affairs.
This award is not only a recognition of the team’s past work, but also a reflection of the community’s acknowledgment of the role media plays in connecting information and supporting public communication. As community structures and information needs continue to evolve, the role of media in building understanding and communication bridges across different groups is becoming increasingly important.
Looking ahead, CCTV Medium will continue to stay rooted in the local community, focus on real community needs, and provide content with public service value and practical relevance, while helping promote information flow and community connection in a multicultural environment.
